Chrome Will Stop Bringing New Features in Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
JAKARTA - Google has just confirmed that it will end Chrome support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 early next year. With this, users will no longer be able to install newer versions of the browser.
That's because Google plans to introduce Chrome 110 as well as a sign the company is ending support for older versions of the Windows OS.
Version 110 of the currently claimed browser makes up about two thirds of the desktop market. It is claimed, Google will launch it on February 7, 2023.
The company asks users to immediately upgrade their operating system to a newer one like Windows 10 or Windows 11 in order to keep getting Chrome updates.

Citing TechRadar, Wednesday, October 26, Google stopped shipping new features for Windows 7 in January 2020 as the company transitions to a three-year Additional Security Update (ESU) period, which will end in January 2023. This is in line with Google's plans to end support for the OS. .
While Windows 8.1 will reach the end of its support period in January 2023, and will not see the launch of the ESU program, marking the end of its lifespan.
Based on data from Statcounter, an analytics service, 13.31 percent of all Windows users in September 2022 were still running version 7 or 8.1, compared to 13.61 percent who were using the latest Windows 11.
