This Is The Release Date For Rurouni Kenshin: The Final / Beginning Of Next Year

JAKARTA - Warner Bros Studio has confirmed the release dates of the last two films in the Rurouni Kenshin live-action film franchise with an intense new trailer.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Final is scheduled for release on April 23, 2021 in Japan. The second film, Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning, will be released just a few months later and will hit theaters on June 4, 2021.

The last two films in this franchise will adapt material from the original comic (manga) series that has not been successfully adapted into an animated series (anime), so there will be many fans who are experiencing these stories for the first time.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Final will feature the Jinchu arc, which introduces the new villain Enishi (Arata Mackenkyu), and The Beginning will feature the story of how Kenshin Himura got his legendary "X" scar.

The film will also introduce Kasumi Arimura as Tomoe Yukishiro, who was Kenshin's wife during his days as Battosai.

Keishi Otomo returns to direct the last two films along with the cast of Takeru Satoh returning as Kenshin Himura, Emi Takei as Kaoru Kamiya, Munetaka Aoki as Sanosuke Sagara.

There is also Yu Aoi as Megumi Takani, Yosuke Eguchi as Hajime Saito, Yusuke Iseya as Aoshi Shinomori, and Tao Tsuchiya as Misao Makimachi.

Meanwhile, Kaito Oyagi will not return as Yahiko Myojin, but will be played by Riku Onishi.

The last film in the live-action franchise completed filming in 2019, and was even scheduled for release in early summer 2020, then had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
