Drones Muncul Di Dekat Fasilitas Oil Dan Gas Miliknya, Norwegia Terangkap Orang Rusia Yang Disuga Melakukan Pengelolauan
JAKARTA - Norwegian police announced the arrest of six Russians on two separate occasions, on suspicion of photographing the country's vital facilities, on Monday.
Four people were arrested first last week for carrying out a photo shoot. Meanwhile, the other two followed a few days later, allegedly carrying and flying drones.
Norway has increased security in recent weeks, following a number of drone sightings near its oil and gas infrastructure, as well as in response to the Nord Stream gas pipeline leak on September 26.
"We see the consequences of a new security situation in Norway," Justice Minister Emilie Enger Mehl told a news conference.
"We cannot rule out further cases," said Minister Mehl.
Norwegian police further said that last week it had arrested a Russian-Israeli man at a border checkpoint with a drone in his car on Thursday. The next day, another Russian was caught flying a drone and had a camera at the airport in the Arctic City of Tromsoe.
Meanwhile, in a statement Monday, Nordland Police revealed the arrests of three men and one woman on October 11. It said cameras and extensive photography materials had been seized from their cars, but no drones were found.
It is known that a local court on October 14 gave permission to police to detain the four suspects for one week.
