Made Atletico Madrid Fans Hurt Moving To Barcelona, Antoine Griezmann Apologizes
JAKARTA - Atletico Madrid player, Antoine Griezmann, feels guilty toward fans regarding his decision to move to Barcelona in 2019. He realizes that his decision has damaged Atletico fans.
He also apologized for his actions. The Frenchman is ready to pay for his mistakes with impressive performances on the pitch.
"I'm sorry. I know a lot of people want it straight from me," Griezmann was quoted as saying by Eurosport via Antara.
"I'm sorry if I hurt the fans, but the biggest apology I want to say is on the pitch."
"I'm very proud to finally get to this point, to get (my contract) and become a full-fledged Atletico player."
Griezmann moved to Barcelona in 2019. However, he failed to appear impressive during the Blaugrana uniform.
He then returned to Atletico in 2021 on credit. Griezmann then officially joined Los Rojiblancos on a permanent basis.
He was redeemed at a price of 40 million euros (about IDR 601 billion). He signed a contract with Diego Simeone's club until 2026.
