Sandiaga Uno: National Identity Jam!

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said that Indonesians have passed down from generation to generation believed in herbal medicine as a traditional ingredient for health. So that herbal drinks have become Indonesian identities.

For this reason, Sandiaga Uno appreciated the Festival, Archives Exhibition, and Jamu Facilities. The event was held until November 2022 at the ANRI Jakarta Building.

The event was predicted to be a promotional event while preserving Indonesian spices. Especially in herbal products.

"This is in line with the policy direction launched by President Joko Widodo in November 2021 regarding Indonesia Spice Up the World so that Indonesian processed and spice products or foods will become more global," said Sandiaga, Thursday, October 13.

According to Sandiaga, spices-rich Indonesian herbal medicine should be preserved, one of which is by holding activities that can disseminate knowledge about herbal medicine through recordings or archival records.

The festival is considered an effort to help disseminate local cultural values and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) for the marketing of herbal medicine at the national and international levels.

"Of course, it has the potential to increase employment for the community," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of ARSIP Nasional RI (ANRI), Imam Gunarto, explained that the festival was initiated by his party and supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office, PT Putri Nilam Puspitasari, and the Indonesian Herbal Medicine Entrepreneurs Association.

In the herbal archival exhibition and the archipelago medicinal plant, 32 photo archives as well as 10 photos and writings were displayed from newspapers during the Dutch East Indies colonial period.

"This exhibition is one of the efforts to utilize archives in educating the nation's life through learning local cultural values in Indonesia, as well as increasing public awareness and knowledge of the cultural heritage and spices of the archipelago," said Imam.

For people who wish to enliven the Festival, Archive Exhibition and Jamu Sarasehan, they can be visited for free while still implementing health protocols.
