The Lampung Attorney General's Office And LPSK Handed Over Restitutional Money To 6 Victims Of Trafficking In Persons
Lampung High Prosecutor's Office together with the Witness Protection Agency and Victims handed over restitution payments to six victims of the criminal case of trafficking in Indonesian migrant workers with the defendant Lulis Widianingrum."The restitutional money was handed over by the Lampung sub-district head along with the deputy chairman of the LPSK at the Lampung Prosecutor's Office," said Head of the Bandarlampung District Attorney Helmi when contacted in Bandarlampung, Antara, Thursday, October 13.Restitution is compensation given to the victim or his family by the perpetrator of a crime or third party.Helmi continued that the six victims who received the restitution money were Rina Fitriani, Tri Agustini, Siti Khodijah, Supriyatin, Eka Santik, and Reni Puspita.The restitution money was given directly to six victims with a total of Rp41 million as an execution of the Supreme Court's decision which has permanent legal force No.376/Pid.Sus/2022/PN.Tjk dated September 8, 2022."So, the criminal case for the protection of Indonesian migrant workers occurred on Thursday, October 13, 2022, with the defendant Lulis Widianingrum. In the verdict, the defendant has been legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act together to conduct an attempted placement of migrant workers who do not have competence and do not have complete documents," he said.Helmi added that the public prosecutor of the Bandarlampung Kejari has demanded that the defendant be sentenced to 10 months in prison. In addition, the defendant was required to pay restitution money to six victims in the amount of Rp41 million."If the defendant is unable to pay, he will be replaced with imprisonment for two months," he added.On that occasion, LPSK also gave awards to Kajati and Aspidum of the Lampung Prosecutor's Office, Kajari and Kasi Pidum of the Bandarlampung Kejari and prosecutors.The award is an appreciation to the prosecutor's office for handling the TIP case so as to be able to realize the right to restitution for victims of criminal acts.
