COVID-19 Update as of October 5th: New Cases 1,722, Active Cases 16,943

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 66,735 specimens were examined with the result that there were 1,722 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 6,439,292 people and active cases rose by 349 to 16,943 cases", said the data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Wednesday, October 5.

The number of recovered cases today increased by 1,364 people, bringing the total to 6,264,184 recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 9 cases and the total was 158,165 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 600 cases and a total of 1,428,721 cases. Followed by West Java with 286 new cases with a total of 1,181,344 cases. East Java with 208 new cases and a total of 606,189 cases. Banten with 181 new cases and a total of 337,974 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 483 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 227 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 203 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 129 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 109,011,466.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 5.93 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 4,816 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 204,640,930 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,256,285 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 63,823,506 people and the fourth dose was 628,688 people. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
