Anies Asks For An Unpolitized Infiltration Well Program: Important To Respect Science
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asked the infiltration well program, which he has been mainstay in overcoming flooding in the capital city since its in office, not being politicized by all parties.
Anies said that infiltration wells are the result of science as an effort to control the impact of floods. Anies views this vertical drainage as a precise solution to dampen inundation in a convexescent area.
"We hope for the maturity of all of us to see this as a problem that is scientifically solved. It is not merely political. Therefore, what is needed for this is a program for infiltration wells in a basind area," said Anies when met in the Pesanggrahan area, South Jakarta, Wednesday, October 5.
The former Minister of Education and Culture said that if the area where the well-infiltration well had been built, there would be a fairly high puddle of water, although the area was congested, the speed of receding had become very high.
"In the basin area, we need an infiltration well solution. That is why it is very important for us to respect science and carry out science. Because this is the solution for us in the future. Now, this is our homework in the future, because it can be continued later," said Anies, who is now officially a NasDem Party presidential candidate.
He gave an example, the condition of the flood points in Jakarta as of 06.00 WIB today leaves 9 RTs, from the previous 81 RTs last night. Meanwhile, currently there are no more roads that are flooded, from the previous 10 roads were flooded last night.
In addition, the handling carried out by the DKI Provincial Government when the flood hit was water extraction through the pump. The pumps are also on standby at locations that have the potential for flooding before it rains.
"Alhamdulillah, RT is still inundating, there are only a few. That means, all out workers to suck it all up," he said.
As is known, infiltration wells are often criticized by a number of parties, both the public and members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD. The construction of a number of infiltration wells is seen as problematic, such as being built at a higher point, to failing to absorb water when inundation occurs.
In 2022, the DKI Jakarta DPRD will also remove the budget for infiltration wells in the APBD because it is considered ineffective in tackling flooding.
