Claims Of Lukas Enembe About Gold Mining Can End In Other Crimes If His Ownership Is Not Evidence
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) has asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to check the gold mine ownership documents for Papua Governor Lukas Enembe. Lukas could be caught again in a legal case if he does not have official documents.
"If there is no (document, ed) it means illegal mining, even if there is mining activity, it means stealing from the state, that's wrong again, subject to an illegal mining article and the results can be confiscated by the state as well," MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman told reporters, Friday, September 30.
There are a number of mining documents that Lukas must have and must be checked by the KPK. Among them, Mining Business Permits (IUPs) to export permits issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
In addition, Lukas was also asked to show evidence of buying and selling his gold mine. If all the documents cannot be presented, then Lukas is the same as stealing the state's wealth.
"It's simple, if there is a gold mining, ask for legality and the proceeds from the buyer's payment," he said.
Furthermore, the KPK was asked not to follow the request of the Lukas camp to see the location of the mine. Lukas only needs to provide mining documents if he wants to provide evidence to the KPK.
Meanwhile, Lukas was asked not to be afraid to give the required documents. Moreover, the document aims to prove whether or not there are allegations of corruption.
Not only that, from the existing documents, it will also be known whether or not there is a flow of money into gambling as alleged.
"So, then the money used for gambling or something else (known, ed). If it's not there, it means it doesn't exist," said Boyamin.
Previously, Papua Governor Lukas Enembe's attorney, Stefanus Roy Rening, said his client owned many gold mines including Freeport. This statement was issued directly by Lukas.
"I asked the Governor (Lukas) before I came here, the Governor had this statement, with a smile he said, 'That's Freeport I have. Do you have any doubts about that? I have Freeport, as governor, I have Freeport, do you have any doubts?'," said Stefanus.
In addition, Lukas is also said to have a gold mine in Tolikara Regency, Papua. However, the administration of his ownership has not been completed.
"Let's accompany together, we go together to Tolikara, we'll see if it's a mine," he concluded.
