JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) has prepared 12 warships (KRI) to secure the implementation of the G20 Summit which will take place in Bali in November 2022.
"In the meantime, we are preparing 12 KRIs, later we will appoint Pangkoarmada II Admiral TNI T.S.N.B. Hutabarat as the operational control command (Kodal Ops) in the context of securing the sea," said Chief of Staff of the Navy (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono after leading the handover ceremony for the position of the Commander of the Armed Forces from Vice Admiral Abdul Rasyid to Rear Admiral Heru Kusmanto at Koarmada I, Central Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, September 27.
According to him, the plan for securing the G20 Summit is still under discussion by the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa.
"I also reported at the meeting that we will be ready later with the elements being held, whether later the mobilization of elements from the base or using elements of titles. This is still in the meeting, with the existing budget we have to project how many KRIs will be prepared," said Yudo.
According to him, in the waters of Bali, there may be security from foreign warships whose delegations are participating in the G20 Summit.
"Because this is Indonesian territory, of course, we will control them. In this marine sector, we will determine where the position of foreign warships is, where is the position of KRI to carry out patrols," said the former Pangkogabwilhan I.
This, said Yudo, has become an international agreement, in which a country that carries out activities and foreign ships that will secure its head of state in the country's territory, then that country will arrange for the patrol sector.
