Walkot Bogor: Rizieq Shihab Rejects The COVID-19 Swab Test

BOGOR - Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto received news that the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab, who was being treated at Ummi Hospital, Bogor City, was not willing to undergo a swab test.

"I received a report from the Health Service Team who came to the UMMI Hospital this afternoon to discuss the swab test with Habib Rizieq," he said as quoted by Antara, Friday, November 27.

According to Bima, a report from the Bogor City Health Office Team stated that Habib Rizieq Shihab's family was not willing to have Habib Rizieq undergo a swab test. But there is no reason for refusal.

"Bogor City is my area of duty. Therefore, I will go to the hospital to ask for clarification as to why he refused," said the Head of the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

The Bogor City Government suggested Habib Rizieq to undergo a swab test. Bima emphasized this in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine.

Bima explained that the function of the swab test was to determine whether a person's position was negative or positive for COVID-19. The goal is for the safety of the person undergoing the test, namely Habib Rizieq, as well as for the safety and security of all health workers in the hospital who treat him.
