Two Hectares of Cannabis Field in Aceh Besar Destroyed
BANDA ACEH - A total of 107 personnel from the joint team of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and other relevant agencies destroyed two hectares of marijuana fields in the Lamteuba area, Aceh Besar District, Aceh.
"The extermination involved 107 joint personnel. The destroyed cannabis plants are ready to harvest. The number of cannabis plants in the two-hectare field reached 20,000", said BNN Deputy Director of Narcotics Eradication Brigadier General Roy Hardi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 20.
The destruction of the cannabis field was carried out on Monday, September 19.
The marijuana field was discovered on Tuesday, September 13. The marijuana field is located in Pulo Village, Lamteuba Village, Seulimeum District, and Aceh Besar District.
The cannabis field is located at an altitude of 839 meters above sea level (MDPL). Located on the slopes of Mount Seulawah. The distance of the fields is about six kilometers from residential areas.
"Cannabis plants are destroyed ready for harvest with a height of up to two meters. The weight of the cannabis plant is estimated at 10 tons. The destruction is carried out by pulling it out and burning it", said Brigadier General Roy Hardi.

According to him, the destruction of marijuana plants in an area of two hectares involving a joint team is a form of synergy between the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency and other relevant agencies in preventing, eradicating, and abusing illicit drug trafficking.
"We hope that with the extermination, the public will be more aware of the laws and regulations that prohibit the cultivation of marijuana", he said.
