13 Napi Di Lapas Ba'a Rote Ndao Jali Assimilasi
JAKARTA - A total of 13 inmates at LP Ba'a Rote Ndao Regency, East Nusa Tenggara underwent an assimilation program at home before the end of their sentence.
"13 inmates who are undergoing assimilation have passed half the time of their sentence and two-thirds of their detention period in 2022," said Head of Class III Ba'a Prison Daniel Saekoko when confirmed from Kupang, Saturday, September 10.
Implementation of assimilation in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Permenkumham) Number 43 of 2021 concerning the Second Amendment to Permenkumham Number 32 of 2020 in the context of preventing and overcoming COVID-19.
Daniel Saekoko said the prisoners who underwent assimilation had also been declared worthy for their good behavior and had also participated in all the coaching programs that had been held in prisons.
He said he had given directions to prisoners to maintain behavior in the community during the assimilation period.
The status of the 13 people, he said, was still prisoners so that they had been directed to maintain attitudes and actions such as avoiding things such as drinking alcohol, fighting, and others related to criminal acts.
"If they commit another crime, they will be put back in prison with a sentence according to their actions," he said, quoted from Antara.
Daniel Saekoko said the whereabouts of the prisoners remained under the supervision of the Correctional Center and other agencies such as the Police and local governments at the sub-district and village levels.
He has also directed the families to be able to assist in the monitoring process while undergoing assimilation at home so that the inmates remain well behaved.
"We hope that prisoners can re-adam with the community and not repeat criminal acts that only harm themselves and their families," he said.
