NasDem Gives A Declaration Signal Anies Baswedan Becomes A Presidential Candidate 2024 On Heroes' Day

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party has signaled that it will declare Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate (candidate) in 2024. Anies is one of three names of presidential candidates recommended to the NasDem National Working Meeting some time ago.

It is planned that NasDem will declare Anies on November 10, 2022 or coincide with Heroes' Day.

"Yes, of course (Anies is ready, ed). If you don't want to, what are you going to do," said the chairman of the NasDem Party DPP Willy Aditya, Thursday, September 8.

However, Willy said the certainty of the declaration of the former Minister of Education and Culture to become a presidential candidate depends on the NasDem agreement with other supporting parties.

"But of course it's a dynamic thing if there is an agreement. Now there is an understanding, it's just an agreement," he said.

Willy said that currently NasDem is still in intense communication with PKS and Democrats. "So far, communication has been built with the PKS Party and the Democrats," he said.

Even so, Willy also did not rule out the possibility that later Ganjar Pranowo or Andika Perkasa would be declared a presidential candidate. Because, he said, the name of the presidential candidate depends on the agreement of the supporting political party. "It could be Anies, or it could be his other partner. It's up to the agreement later. If the three parties agree with Anies, Anies. If you agree with Ganjar, Ganjar. If you agree Andika, Andika. Of course, you don't run from three names," he said.
