Floods Soak 6 Villages In Pulang Pisau, Central Kalimantan
PULANG PISAU - Six villages in Banama Tingang Subdistrict, Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan, were flooded due to the high intensity of the rain.
"Based on a joint report with the local subdistrict Tripika, there are at least six villages, namely Tangkahen Village, Bawan Village, Tambak Village, Ramang Village, Hanua Village and Hurung Village, which were flooded", said the Head of Banama Tingang District, Pulang Pisau Regency, Ngeok T Rasad, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 7th.
According to Ngeok, currently, the local sub-district officials together with Tripika elements are continuing to collect data and monitor the extent of the impact of the flood.
All village heads affected by floods are asked to continue to monitor any developments due to flooding and continue to increase awareness of various possibilities that may occur.
In addition to the high rainfall in the local area, the Kahayan River Basin (DAS) is also no longer able to accommodate the water discharge so that the water overflows, flooding the surrounding villages and settlements.
Furthermore, his party empowered all the tools owned by the village to anticipate bad things and formed a disaster response post for villages that were considered prone to flooding.
"The water level varies from knee-deep to the waist of an adult, and can still rise if the rainfall in Banama Tingang District and its surroundings continues to be high", explained Ngeok.
He appealed to residents to always be vigilant and responsive. All parties must work together to maintain public safety from the effects of floods and the possibility of various diseases that arise due to floods.
