KPK Investigators Running Gas Check Anies Baswedan Regarding Formula E

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) immediately stepped on the gas asking for information from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan regarding the investigation into alleged corruption in the implementation of Formula E. There are a number of things that have been clarified.

"The person concerned (Anies Baswedan, ed) has arrived and a request for information and clarification will be made immediately by the KPK investigation team," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Wednesday, September 7.

The KPK did not specify what would be asked of Anies. Ali said this was due to allegations that Formula E corruption was still under investigation.

It is hoped that Anies' statement will be able to make light of the alleged corruption. "In principle, the request for information is meant as a need for an investigation process that is being carried out by the KPK," said Ali.

Previously, Anies arrived at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta today, Wednesday, September 7. When he arrived, he who was wearing a white official shirt seemed to wave and occasionally gave a thumbs up.

Regarding the investigation of Formula E, a number of parties have also been summoned. One of them, the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edy Marsudi, who admitted that he explained about the loan of Rp180 billion from the DKI Jakarta Dispora to pay the commitment fee to Formula E Operations (FEO).
