Police Deploy Labfor Team To Shop In Pasar Baru Location Of Elevator Falls Killing 1 Employee
JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Metro Police dispatched a Forensic Laboratory Team (Labfor) at the Lotus Decor store, Jalan Pintu Air, Pasar Baru, Sawah Besar.
The National Police Labfor Team was dispatched to check the exact cause of the elevator crash, which killed a shop employee and another is in critical condition. However, the front of the Lotus Decor store was not installed with a police line.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for the Sawah Besar Police, AKP Wildan, said that the TKP process from the National Police Labfor had been carried out at the crime scene (TKP).
"(Evidence brought from the crime scene) chains and elevator machines," said AKP Wildan, Friday, August 26.
He explained that the Labfor team would examine the evidence brought from the scene. However, he could not confirm when the results of the Labfor team's examination were obtained.
"We have finished from the crime scene. The results are not yet available. It is still being investigated later in the laboratory. (So) we cannot conclude yet," he said.
Previously, it was reported that Dede Hendri (24), a Lotus Decor shop employee, was killed when the elevator at the shop where he worked fell. The incident occurred at the Lotus Decor store, Jalan Pintu Air, Pasar Baru, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta.
Dede's life could not be saved even though he was taken to the nearest hospital. While Hendro Setyadi (36), the other victims are still being treated.
Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin explained that the incident occurred on Wednesday, August 24, the night.
"There were two employees in a shop selling curtains, when two employees were about to move goods in the form of a roll of cloth from the 4th floor to the 1st floor, as soon as they entered the elevator, not long after, the lift fell from the 4th floor to the 1st floor," said Kombes Komarudin to reporters, Thursday, August 25.
It is suspected that the elevator fell because the lift cable was broken. He confirmed that the two victims, who were employees of the shop, had been rushed to the hospital.
"It is suspected that the lift cable (sling cable) was broken. The victim was rushed to the hospital, two people. One of them died in the hospital," he said.
