Light Notes From The RDP Of The National Police Chief And Commission III Of The Indonesian House Of Representatives Regarding The Murder Case Of Brigadier J
JAKARTA - The Hearing Meeting (RDP) for members of Commission III of the DPR RI with an agenda for an explanation from the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, regarding the killing of Brigadier J on Wednesday (24/8) was chaotic.
Two members of Commission III of the House of Representatives had an argument over the rules and regulations outside the substance of the meeting agenda. It started when Dipo Nusantara explained the background of his question regarding the murder case of Brigadier J or Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat.
Dipo highlighted the 'singing' of Brigadier J's attorney in the media regarding the number of Polri personnel involved in the obstruction of justice. The number stated to be involved in the case, according to lawyers, is only 10 percent. According to Dipo, it is impossible for a legal representative to convey it without data supply. It is possible that the data supply comes from the internal police.
Considered to be too time-consuming and long-winded, Ahmad Sahroni as chairman of the meeting replacing Bambang Wuryanto reminded Dipo to get to the core of the question.
"Mr. Dipo, it's better to ask questions in general, don't read them one by one, I'm afraid they will be misinterpreted to the people in front here, in general, Mr. Dipo," Sahroni reminded for the second time.
At the same time, Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI/Golkar FP Adies Kadir also turned on his microphone, "It is better if, as members of Commission III, we speak based on data and facts, not based on hoaxes."
Adies had not finished speaking yet, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, Chairman of the PKB faction in the 2017-2024 DPR who is also a member of Commission III of the DPR RI interrupted, "Interruption of leadership, interruption of leadership."
"I'm still interrupting, you can't cut me off, I'm still interrupting. I interrupted, why was it cut, how come," said Adies.
The two of them clashed with each other, interrupting each other.
"If I'm interrupting, I can't cut it. You are a member of the DPR, how come you don't understand the rules and regulations," said Adies.
"You also cut people, listen first," said Cucun.
"I can't interrupt anymore, read the rules," Adies replied in a rising tone.
He continued his argument, “So I suggest conveying things that are based on data and facts because what we are talking about must be based on data and facts. If there are things that are circulating, just convey the things that are circulating in the media whether they are true or not. So, don't mention names. That's what I meant."
"We are legal people, we talk about the law, if we interrupt the discussion, read the rules and regulations, we can not interrupt, we can not talk, so that's the leader," said Adies.
"Yes, I will continue the chairman, I am also the chairman's legal person," said Dipo.
"Are you a doctor yet?" Adies pout.
"That's not the case, chairman," answered Dipo, continuing to explain his question.
Grandson did not accept, "Wait a minute, sir, I ask for order too. I am the same as you who also occupy the leadership, I have never been a dictator under the leadership, please also respect the members, sir. This is a member of my faction, sir, don't cut it. If time runs out, remind me, let my members talk, sir. No, I am also the leader outside this commission, I also appreciate it.”
"Don't say Mr. Dipo is not a doctor, Mr. Adies is a doctor. Should it be compared? I can't sir. Is that the standard of a doctor?" said Cucun in a voice that also rose.
Feeling his name was mentioned, Adies Kadier immediately replied, "I don't like it when I'm called a dictator, who is the dictator here?"
"Just a moment," Sahroni cut off the conversation. He reminded the members to maintain etiquette.
“Guys, this is watched by tens of millions of people. If the ethics of commission III can't give it to the public clearly, we are damaged. We'd better take it slow, be patient," he said.
“Regarding Mr. Adies, maybe a doctorate or something, we all have degrees. But presumably, let's cool our heads together, I'm sorry that the Chief of Police is already stressed. It is better for us to prioritize the interests of brotherhood at this time,” said Sahroni.
Fahri Hamzah's criticismThis is not the first time that there have been quarrels and fights, sneering, and insinuating fellow members of the DPR, both in the trial and outside the trial. Seven years ago, the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2014-2019 period, Fahri Hamzah, even called the people's representatives sitting in Senayan less intelligent.
This was revealed in a discussion with the Executive Director of Lingkar Madani about 7 new DPR projects on one of the country's private TV stations in 2015.
According to him, members of the DPR too often argue about non-substantive issues. This is because they were chosen not because they are intelligent, but because they are liked by the people.
"That's why sometimes many people also come to the DPR who are not smart, sometimes it's possible, we say it's a bit stupid," said Fahri Amzah.
However, as a democracy, every choice of the people must be respected.
“That's why we give power to the brains of the people who come into this building by providing them with staff, by giving them support systems, study centers, scientists, researchers and so on and so forth. That's how democratic institutions work," continued Fahri Hamzah.
For his words, Fahri received a sanction from the Council of Honor (MKD). He was also fired from his party because he was often seen as contradicting the stance of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).
Capital IDR 5 billionIt is undeniable that the current system is not able to find people's representatives who have good capabilities and qualities. Because, only with intelligence will not be enough to lead someone to sit as a representative of the people in Senayan. The most important thing is material capital.
Imagine, said Member of Commission IX DPR RI Irma Chaniago, to be able to fight to become a member of the legislature requires a lot of capital.
"DPR RI for example. Minimum IDR 5 billion. You can only move, if you don't, you won't win. Now the wani piro is crazy. People today don't care whether they are qualified or not, the important thing is money. The proof can be seen, many corruptors can enter again in parliament. Many people who are legally disabled can be re-elected,” said Irma to VOI.
On the other hand, political parties cannot do anything because they have tripped over the parliamentary threshold.
"They don't want to know either. I don't know where it is important to be able to bring a seat, later in parliament they will only be vote getters, only followers, there is no business, the important thing is that they bring seats," said Irma.
