Pork Sellers At Pasar Senen Complain, Many Buyers Complain Because The Price Is Rising

JAKARTA - Pork traders in Pasar Senen have complained about the increase in the price of meat to Rp100 thousand per kilogram. As a result, the number of buyers on the Monday market decreased.

Natan (48), one of the pork traders, complained that the increase in meat was Rp. 20,000 per kilogram. Previously, the price of the meat was only sold at IDR 80 thousand per kilo and now it is IDR 100 thousand per kilo.

"For the past two weeks, the price of meat has been going up. The high price increase has resulted in a decline in consumer purchasing power," said Natan at Pasar Senen, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 25.

Jonson (32) said the same thing. Jonson said that due to the increase in pork, there were many complaints from buyers. They were surprised by the increase in the price of pork which was quite large per kilo.

"When they complain to us, they usually buy 2 kilos, now it's only 1 kilo," he said.

The increase in meat is because shipments from Bali do not enter Jakarta. Meat shipments actually came from Solo which resulted in an increase.

"Because of the increase, usually Saturday and Sunday are crowded, but now it's quiet. Not to mention that I usually run out of 2 quintals of merchandise, this is only 1 quintals," he complained.

In the same place, Rosy Hutahuruk, one of the buyers, was also disappointed with the increase in pork. He also just found out today there is an increase in pork.

"At home, there will be an event and indeed we usually cook pork. When I bought it, the price went up quite a lot, but how can I still buy it," he said.
