SEMARANG – The Central Java Police's commitment to eradicate gambling in its territory has been proven by arresting hundreds of gamblers. This was revealed by the Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi when he led the disclosure of a gambling case that was held at the Central Java Police Headquarters, Monday, August 22.
In revealing the case, which was also attended by all Polres in the Central Java Regional Police, the Regional Police Chief said that during the period from January to July 2022, the Central Java Regional Police had succeeded in uncovering 224 gambling cases and securing 381 suspects.
"Today what was held was the result of revealing cases by the Central Java Police and their ranks, in a day we have revealed 112 gambling cases with 256 suspects. This number is the result of prosecution at 35 Polres in Central Java," said Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Pol Ahmad Luthfi through a written statement, Monday, August 22.
Of the hundreds of suspects who were arrested, there were 24 who acted as dealers. The total money from gambling that was also secured reached around IDR 72 million.
"This is a manifestation of the Central Java Police's commitment to combating gambling, not only players but also dealers," said the Regional Police Chief.

In detail, the Kapolda explained the forms of gambling that were revealed, namely 18 cases of online gambling, 43 cases of lottery, and 51 cases of playing field. It was also revealed that 2 cases of online gambling were revealed from Purbalingga and Pemalang, which are international gambling networks.
"From this case, there are international networks, namely Purbalingga and Pemalang, both of which have servers in Thailand and Cambodia. In Pemalang, they even use celebrity endorsement services as a means of promotion," he explained.
