Ben Watkins, MasterChef Junior Contestant Dies
JAKARTA - Ben Watkins, one of the sixth season MasterChef Junior contestants died on Monday, November 16, 2020. Launching Deadline, Wednesday, cancer was the cause of his death.
For a year and a half, Watkins battled cancer since he was 11 years old. He died three years after both of his men died in a murder case.
“After losing his parents in September 2017, we gathered Ben's passion for life. He never complained and was always the strongest person we know, "said Ben Watkins' grandmother.
Ben Watkins is known to have Angiomatoid Fibrous Histiocytoma or a rare soft tissue tumor. In August, MasterChef Junior contestants sent him a support video message.
Ben Watkins joined MasterChef Junior season six in 2018. He displayed his cooking skills so that after competing, he cooked at his family restaurant, Big Ben's Bodacious Barbecue, Baker & Deli in Indiana.
One of the MasterChef Junior judges, Gordon Ramsay, shared his condolences to Ben Watkins.
