Because Of Playing Soccer, Students And Teenagers Fight Each Other At The UISU Medan Campus
MEDAN - Videos of fights and beatings between a number of teenagers and students dressed as scouts have gone viral on social media. The fight was sparked by a football match.
The incident occurred at the North Sumatra Islamic University (UISU) Campus, Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Medan City. In the video, a number of teenagers in plain clothes can be seen hitting and kicking students who are dressed as scouts.
The Head of Criminal Investigation at the Medan Police, Kompol Teuku Fatir Mustafa when confirmed confirmed the incident. He said the police had received a report regarding the incident.
Commissioner Fatir explained that the beating took place on Saturday, August 13. The incident was triggered after the two groups of teenagers played soccer on Friday, August 12.
"It happened starting with playing football. On Saturday (fighting), playing ball on Friday. First playing football and then fighting," said Commissioner Fatir, confirmed by VOI, Monday, August 15.
Currently, the police are still investigating the viral video.
"For that matter, we are still investigating the video. Because it looks like there were beatings and beatings. We have received the report and we are investigating," he continued.
However, Kompol Fatir has not been willing to reveal the school's origins for the students. He said his party would immediately summon all parties involved.
"Later we will inform (the school). For other steps we will call all parties involved," he said.
