Inspector General Sambo's Wife Could Be Convicted About False Reports To Brigadier J, Expert: Police Must Investigate Forced Or...

JAKARTA - Parahyangan University Criminal Law expert Agustinus Pohan assessed that the wife of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, Putri Chandrawathi (PC) could be convicted of a false report on the sexual harassment of Brigadier J.

He added that if according to the criminal law, the complainant could become a suspect. If it is proven that there is a false report.

"If it's in the rules that people give false information, there are legal provisions. If we follow the rules, it can be (suspects) because of false reports," Agustinus said when contacted by VOI, Sunday, August 14.

Therefore, Agustinus asked the police to investigate the report of Putri Chandrawathi, whether there were allegations of coercion or pressure experienced by the wife of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

"That is, if based on the (law-ed) rules, (but) did he report because he was forced or what? Was there pressure to make the report, therefore we are waiting for the continuation," he concluded.

For information, the wife of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo had reported Brigadier J on suspicion of harassment and attempted murder. In fact, the case was handled by Polda Metro Jaya.

The report was registered with LP/B/1630/VII/2022/SPKT/POLRES METRO JAKSEL/PMJ on July 9, 2022.

However, now the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit has stopped investigating the alleged crime of sexual harassment reported by the wife of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo because it was not proven. In fact, the reporting was seen as an 'obfuscation' of the premeditated murder of Brigadier J.

"We consider these two prisons to be part of the obstruction of justice," said the Director of General Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General Andi Rian Djajadi, to reporters, Friday, August 12.

The report made by Putri Chandrawathi is only an alibi. The goal, to cover the death of Brigadier J because he was killed.

"This is part of an effort to prevent disclosure of the 340 case (premeditated murder, ed)," he said.

In fact, Andi firmly said that all investigators who had handled the case, both the South Jakarta Metro Police and the Metro Jaya Police, would be prosecuted. This is because they are suspected of being unprofessional for raising the case to be investigated.

In fact, the fact is that no incidents of sexual harassment were found.

"All investigators who were responsible for the previous police report are currently under special examination by the irsus (special inspectorate, ed)," said Andi.
