Denies Bullying, Kim Ga Ram Ex LE SSERAFIM: I'm Just An Ordinary Student
JAKARTA - Kim Ga Ram made an individual statement a month after leaving the K-pop group LE SSERAFIM in July. He denied being involved in the bullying case circulating on social media.
Wednesday, August 10, an individual claiming to be a friend of Kim Ga Ram uploaded Ga Ram's open letter. In her letter, Ga Ram explained that she was just an ordinary student and had never been bullied.
“First of all, I want to apologize. I know it's very late but I don't have a chance to talk about my position," Kim Ga Ram said, quoting SBS on Thursday, August 11.
“I put a lot of effort into achieving my dreams, so it's true that I'm afraid that my dreams will be destroyed because of past actions. But I'm more afraid of criticism as the days go by and I wanted to share my version."
Kim Ga Ram claims to have never hit anyone, changed schools, or smoked as the news circulated.
"I never hit at all. I was never forced to change schools. I never drink alcohol or smoke. I never bullied anyone. I'm just an ordinary student," he explained.
Previously, South Korea's Ministry of Education confirmed that Kim Ga Ram had committed a fifth-degree crime at school. But Kim Ga Ram said it was related to his friend who uploaded his friend's photo secretly. “I think with me (yelling) it helps the victim. And I didn't know it was the right thing to do. At that time I was immature and childish," he said.
On July 20, HYBE and Source Music removed Kim Ga Ram from the group LE SSERAFIM. Previously they denied Ga Ram was bullying and would take legal action.
However, until Kim Ga Ram left, the agency did not provide developments on the bullying case reports they submitted.
