Developing The Metropolitan Rebana, Ridwan Kamil Does Not Want Its Citizens To Be Just Office Boys Or Security Guards
JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil or commonly known as Kang Emil invited foreign investors to develop 13 new cities in the Cirebon, Patimban and Majalengka (Rebana) areas. The goal is to advance the province of West Java.
Rebana Metropolitan is the northern / northeastern region of West Java Province which includes seven regions, namely Sumedang, Majalengka, Cirebon, Subang, Indramayu, and Kuningan, as well as the City of Cirebon.
Ridwan Kamil said that Rebana Metropolitan was projected to be the motor of future economic growth in West Java. Among other things, through the development of industrial estates that are integrated, innovative, collaborative, highly competitive, and sustainable.
"With Rebana, we will see 13 futuristic cities. Rebana is the future of West Java. The Rebana area is also one of the seven new economies in West Java. West Java's new economy is expected to be a solution to the dynamics and development problems in a province of 35 thousand square kilometers. with a population of nearly 50 million, "he said at the West Java Investment Summit (WISJ), Monday, November 16.
The former Mayor of Bandung said that Rebana Metropolitan was expected to provide a socially just economy for all residents in the area. Therefore, the local community must be involved in the development process.
"I don't want Rebana to develop for 10 to 30 years, but the local people are only spectators, the stones come from other islands, the food supply is not local. The residents are only security guards, the residents are just office boys, they don't want to. Therefore everyone must attend. , "he said.
Not only that, Ridwan Kamil said, regional heads, both regents and mayors, must participate in preparing human resources (HR) who are ready to compete.
He added that Rebana Metropolitan would be the focus of marketing in the WJIS 2020 event with the advantages of infrastructure, investment ecosystem, minimum wages, tax incentives for investors, and ease of licensing.
Currently, existing infrastructure support in the Rebana Metropolitan area includes national roads, the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) and Palimanan-Kanci (Palikanci) toll roads, the Cikampek-Cirebon railroad, Balongan Port, Cirebon, and Patimban (Phase I). BIJB Kertajati, as well as the Subang, Indramayu, and Cirebon terminals. Energy needs are also available, including through dams in Cipancuh, Jatigede, and Setupatok, Balongan oil refineries, geothermal in Ciremai, Jatigede hydro power, to PLTU in Indramayu.
To support the development of Rebana Metropolitan, various infrastructure projects are also underway and planned to be built, including Phase II Patimban Port, Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road, Patimban access toll road, Kertajati toll road, Rancaekek-Kertajati rail reactivation, Cirebon Raya LRT- Kertajati, to Jatigede SPAM and TPPAS Cirebon Raya.
