Ganjar Pranowo Uses Private 'Hands' To Build Manufacturing Areas In Brebes To Reduce Poverty Rates
SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said he would continue to build a manufacturing industrial area in Brebes Regency as an effort to reduce poverty.
"It's still running, but now it's not included in national strategic programs or projects. We want to continue it, but it's only a private project because at that time it wasn't too competitive compared to the one in Batang," he said in Semarang, Antara, Wednesday, August 3.
The number one person in Central Java revealed that the plan to develop an industrial area in Brebes Regency is no longer a national strategic project because it is not competitive with Batang Regency.
According to him, one of the factors is that there are many land brokers who play so that the price of land or land in Brebes Regency soars. Whereas the need for industrial estates in the region is very necessary to absorb labor and reduce poverty.
"Now we are still talking about land, so I ask for encouragement from the local government, especially in Brebes. Can you not look for a location for land whose price is not too high so that it is attractive to investors and will absorb a lot of labor," he said.
The Governor explained that based on the spatial analysis conducted, it was found that there were inequality regarding the variables of poverty and unemployment.
Areas that are the point of manufacturing development are areas with low poverty, while in areas where there is no or minimal manufacturing development, for example, in the western part of Central Java.
"Brebes, Banyumas, Kebumen, Purbalingga, Cilacap are the areas. So it is confirmed that we must direct development there," he said.
Therefore, if you look at Jepara Regency and Grobogan Regency, they are currently competing to attract investors, actually confirming it so that the distance is not too far, said Ganjar Pranowo.
