Former Principal Of SMAN 5 Kota Bima Diverted The Boss' Fund Of IDR 372 Million
JAKARTA - Former Principal of SMAN 5 Kota Bima, Sudirman, was charged with committing a criminal act of corruption in the 2016 BOS funds. Sudirman's actions were said to have caused losses to state finances amounting to Rp372.5 million.
"The defendant has committed an illegal act of benefiting himself or others or abusing his authority to the detriment of the state," said Attorney Syafruddin at the Tipikor Mataram District Court, West Nusa Tenggara, reported by Antara, Friday, November 13.
The prosecutor explained that Sudirman carried out his corruption mode when he was Head of SMAN 5 Kota Bima. In 2016, the school received a flow of BOS funds amounting to IDR 747 million.
The funds that should have been used for teaching and learning activities in schools had been misused by the defendant. Together with the treasurer, the defendant issued funds that were not in accordance with the provisions for the use of BOS funds.
"Even in the accountability report for BOS funds there are some items whose budget has been manipulated," he said.
These items include, among others, the procurement of office stationery, payment of teacher salaries, the implementation of new student admissions, the provision of art facilities, and entrepreneurship education. Then there is also for local transportation costs, consumption, honorarium wages.
"As a result, there was a state loss of Rp. 372.5 million based on the results of the BPKP NTB representative audit," he said.
In relation to this indictment, the defendant's legal adviser, Irpan Suryadiata, stated that he did not file an exception and invited the panel of judges to continue the trial agenda for witness examination. Sudirman was charged with Article 2 and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Act.
