Warner Bros. Considering Wonder Woman 1984 To Show On HBO Max Or To Be Delayed Again

JAKARTA - Six weeks before Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters, the Warner Bros. production house is considering showing the film on HBO Max or being pushed back to 2021.

Launching Variety, Friday, November 13, this consideration was carried out by Warner Bros after European countries and other countries implemented lockdowns again due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Of course, this resulted in cinemas in these countries being closed again.

Previously, the screening of Wonder Woman 1984 had been postponed three times, namely June 5, August 14, October 2 and December 25, 2020.

If Warner Bros. chooses to air it on HBO Max, they plan to release it in early January 2021. Meanwhile, if waiting for theaters to reopen, reportedly they will be showing Wonder Woman 1984 next summer.

On the other hand, this tentpole film will suffer a big loss. On the other hand, HBO Max subscribers are projected to increase if the film enters the streaming service. The newly released HBO Max to the public also has to compete with Netflix, Disney Plus, and Amazon.

Patty Jenkins as director of Wonder Woman 1984 stated, he made this film for the big screen and is worthy of being shown in theaters. Warner Bros. also said they would not skip cinema screenings.

Previously, Christopher Nolan's Tenet film opted for cinema viewing while Disney's Mulan moved to Disney Plus.
