IPW Reveals Results Of Shooting Case Investigation At Inspector General Ferdy Sambo's House
JAKARTA - Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) revealed the results of an internal investigation into the shooting case at the official residence of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, at the Duren Tiga Police Complex, Pancoran, South Jakarta.
IPW stated that Brigadier One (Briptu) Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J and Bhayangkara Dua (Bharada) Richard Eliezer or Bharada E, were members of the satgassus (special task force).
"The incident is taking place at the house of the Head of the Satgassus (Kasatgassus) Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, who at that time was also the Head of the Profession and Security Police Division," said Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) Chairman Sugeng Teguh Santoso to VOI, Monday, August 1.
Sugeng explained that First Brigadier Nopryansah Yosua and Bharada Richard Eliezer were also aides to the inactive Head of Profession and Security Division Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.
Therefore, he continued, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit must firmly handle this case according to President Jokowi's orders to be processed legally, openly, and not covered up. Because public trust in the Police must be maintained.
Previously, the handling of the police shooting case was handled by Metro Jaya Police for two reports. First report of alleged sexual harassment or obscenity. While the second report alleged threats and violence as well as attempted murder.
Meanwhile, the case handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police regarding the alleged attempted murder and torture was reported by the family attorney of First Brigadier Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat.

"For coordination, finally the entire criminal incident from the police shooting the police was handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. Thus, the handling of the case was carried out by the Special Internal Police Team, which was fronted by the Deputy Chief of the National Police, General Commissioner Gatot Eddy Pramono as the person in charge, with the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit (Kabareskrim) General Commissioner Agus Andrianto as members," he explained.
IPW also appreciates the steps taken by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to take over the handling of the case of the death of a policeman who shot a policeman at Inspector General Ferdy Sambo's house to the Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
According to IPW, it is time for the National Police to open up and explain to the public what happened in the shootout of the members of the Police. The reason is that the incident involved members who were members of a special task force (Satgassus) formed by the National Police Chief himself.
As is known, the incident where the police shot the police that occurred within the work unit of the National Police's Profession and Security Division was in the National Police's Satgassus Team.
In this case, IPW asked the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit to enforce his own rules, namely Perkap Number 2 of 2022 concerning Inherent Supervision within the Police.
Because, continued Sugeng, in this incident Inspector General Sambo did not carry out the inherent supervision obligation (waskat) according to article 9 of the Perkap.
Article 9 of Perkap 2 of 2022 in full reads, namely that superiors who do not carry out their obligations in carrying out the waskat as stipulated in this regulation of the National Police Chief will be given sanctions in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.
"This is in accordance with the consideration of the issuance of the Perkap that inherent supervision is carried out to further improve the discipline, ethics, and performance of National Police members in carrying out their duties. So that organizational goals can be achieved in accordance with the principles of good government administration," said Sugeng.
IPW considers that the incident of police shooting at the house of a high-ranking police officer has greatly reduced the image of the Police in society. The National Police Chief is obliged to save the National Police from public blasphemy.
