Hipmi Holds Meeting To Determine Mardani Maming's Fate As Chief

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) held an internal meeting to determine the fate of Mardani Maming as general chairman after the determination of the suspect status related to the alleged corruption case of mining permits in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan.

This step was taken by Hipmi after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) determined that Mardani Maming was on the wanted list (DPO).

"There has been no organizational decision. Maybe 1-2 days there will be an official statement from the Central Executive Board (BPP)," said Head of Division II BPP Hipmi, Anggawira to VOI, Thursday, July 28.

Contacted separately, Head of Media Relations of BPP Hipmi, Anthony Leong, said BPP Hipmi will hold a meeting regarding Mardani Maming's position today.

"Today there will be a meeting of the Daily Governing Body. We will inform the media immediately. Wait for today's conditions," said Anthony.

For your information, the KPK has named Mardani Maming a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification of mining business licenses in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan.

After being named a suspect, Mardani registered a pretrial lawsuit at the South Jakarta District Court.

However, all of Mardani's requests in this pretrial were rejected by the panel of judges.

The reason is that the KPK has worked according to the applicable procedures in the process of determining the suspect.

Now, the KPK is waiting for its commitment to cooperatively surrender itself.

However, the KPK has confirmed that it will pursue former Tanah Bumbu Regent Mardani Maming if he does not visit the KPK's Merah Putih Building in Jakarta today, Thursday, July 28.

Previously, Mardani Maming was prevented from going abroad by the Directorate General of Immigration at the request of the KPK.

Before being named a suspect, he had also been questioned. However, after being questioned, Mardani Maming admitted that he was asked for information regarding his problems with the owner of PT Jhonlin Group Samsudin Andi Arsyad alias Haji Isam.

Even so, the name Mardani Maming was once said to have received Rp 89 billion in money in a trial for alleged bribery for a mining business license (IUP) in Tanah Bumbu Regency which was held at the Tipikor Court, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Kalsel).

This allegation was conveyed by the younger brother of former President Director of PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN) Henry Soetio, Christian Soetio. At that time, Christian claimed to know that there was a flow of funds to the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu Mardani H Maming through PT Permata Abadi Raya (PAR) and PT Trans Surya Perkasa (TSP).

The money transfer has been going on since 2014. The amount of tens of billions of rupiah is referred to as the amount quoted based on PT PCN's financial statements.
