The Potential Of The COVID-19 Cluster To Pick Up Rizieq, Deputy Governor Of DKI: We See It In 2 Weeks

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said there is a potential for a new COVID-19 cluster from the pick-up and welcome agenda for the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Muhammad Rizieq Shihab.

However, said Riza, currently the spike in COVID-19 cases over the potential of Rizieq's pickup cluster has not been seen. The potential increase in cases will be monitored in the next two weeks.

"We will only see it in a week or two. If yesterday there was a condition where there was a density, we are grateful because I see that everyone uses masks," said Riza at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, November 11.

However, Riza hopes that no spike in cases will occur.

"Hopefully, yesterday our relatives and friends who yesterday visited Habib Rizieq in a crowd did not create a new cluster," he said.

Until now, Rizieq's residence in the Petamburan area is still attended by many of his supporters. Responding to this, Riza recommended that the masses of Rizieq supporters stick to the health protocol.

"Indeed, they all have a longing for Habib Rizieq. But, we ask for help to arrange the mechanism to keep the schedule, distance, health protocol used by using masks and washing hands," explained Riza.

Previously, the mass picking up Rizieq Shihab received attention from various parties. Moreover, epidemiologists assess that the crowd that occurs when the crowd picks up Rizieq has the potential to create a new cluster for the spread of COVID-19.

Rizieq arrived in Indonesia on Tuesday, November 10 after more than three years in Saudi Arabia. When Rizieq returned home, many of the crowd picked him up at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, filling all sides of the arrival terminal area from the international route.

They were moving early on. A total traffic jam was reported in the direction of Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Tuesday, November 10 morning. Prospective passengers even reportedly had to walk about 1 kilometer because the vehicle could not move.

Meanwhile, a number of masses also packed KS Tubun Street and Petamburan III Street, Central Jakarta, to wait for Rizieq's arrival. Even though Rizieq had just arrived at his house around 13.30 WIB, the crowd had packed Rizieq's house since early morning.
