15 Provinces Remain Green Zones For PMK Transmission
JAKARTA - The government maintains that 15 provinces remain in the green zone for the transmission of mouth and nail disease (PMK) in livestock.
It is known that in 22 provinces there are still transmissions of the FMD virus in livestock, and this number has not increased over the past week.
"This means that over the past week we have managed to keep 15 provinces green," said Wiku Adisasmito, Coordinator of the Expert Team for the Handling of Mouth and Nail Diseases Task Force (Satgas PMK).
Wiku said that the PMK Task Force efforts to protect 15 provinces that had not yet been infected had to be increased.
"Meanwhile, there are two additional cities that have been infected, namely Bandar Lampung City and Bengkulu City. So far, there are 265 districts/cities that have been infected," he said.
Wiku said that in preventing the spread of the FMD virus to other regions, conditional cuts were one of the best efforts.
Based on data that can be observed in the provinces of Bali and Central Kalimantan, the percentage of conditional slaughter is quite high compared to the number of sick animals, namely 99.46 percent of 551 cases and 46.98 percent of 645 cases.
