Mardani Maming Wanted By KPK But Not Found In Apartment, Denny Indrayana Admits Not To Have Communication With The Former Regent Of Tanah Bumbu

JAKARTA - The attorney for the suspect in the alleged corruption case of Mardani H. Maming, Denny Indrayana, admitted that he had not communicated with the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan (Kalsel).

"When was the last time, it was a few days ago, I also have to check on my cellphone when was the last time (communication with Mardani)," said Denny Indrayana after a pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court (PN) as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 25.

The legal team of Mardani H. Maming filed a pretrial to determine whether or not the KPK's determination of the General Treasurer of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) was a suspect in an alleged corruption case.

Meanwhile, the KPK could not help but find Mardani H. Maming in an attempt to forcefully pick him up from an apartment in Jakarta, Monday. Mardani is a suspect in the alleged bribery case for mining business permits (IUP) in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan.

Denny said he didn't know Mardani's whereabouts. He also asked the KPK to be patient until the verdict of the pretrial hearing.

"We're just asking for a two-day delay," said Denny.

He is also optimistic that his client will win the pretrial hearing.

"We can win the (pretrial) verdict, there's no need to examine it anyway. If we win, the suspect (status) will fall," said Denny.

The pretrial hearing of the alleged bribery case of Mardani H. Maming will continue on Wednesday (27/7).
