Moeldoko Calls National Children's Day A Moment To Realize The 2045 Golden Generation

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko emphasized that the commemoration of National Children's Day (HAN) 2022, must be a momentum to realize the golden generation of 2045.

He explained that the golden generation is expected to be a superior generation, dignified, able to master, take advantage of the development of science and technology, and have the character values of Pancasila ideology and nationalism.

"Our task is to create a golden generation in the midst of the COVID19 pandemic and the challenges of a new civilization. Children's Day must be a momentum to strengthen mutual commitment, synergy, and collaboration to realize the 2045 golden generation," said Moeldoko in a written statement, Saturday, July 23.

According to him, realizing the golden generation is built with a system of protection and fulfillment of children's rights from the time they are in the womb.

For that, he said, the government has designed a roadmap to produce superior generations through various programs and policies.

Moeldoko gave examples of the National Talent Management program, the Presidential Instruction on Childbirth Guarantee (Jampersal), the Presidential Regulation on the acceleration of stunting reduction, the Presidential Regulation on tuberculosis control, and the Presidential Decree on the handling of violence against children.

"These are all concrete manifestations of President Jokowi's seriousness in creating a superior generation," he explained.

Moeldoko also ensured that, through Government Regulation No. 78/2021, the state is also present for children who need special protection.

Like children dealing with the law, becoming victims of terrorist networks, victims of violence and sexual crimes, and becoming victims in emergency or disaster situations

On that occasion, the 2013-2015 Indonesian Army (TNI) Commander expressed his appreciation to the ministries/agencies, local governments, and all elements of society, who have worked hard to reduce stunting, violence, child marriage, and reduce child labour.

"Including the achievement of children's vaccines which are also very extraordinary. The Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (KSP) appreciates the hard work of all stakeholders involved," he said.

"Our challenge is still big to prepare Indonesian children to become superior generations. For that, let's make sure Indonesian children are protected. Happy National Children's Day 2022," concluded Moeldoko.
