DKI Deputy Governor Asked Families To Follow Health Protocols At Marriage Reception

JAKARTA - The transitional PSBB period for DKI which is again extended today allows wedding receptions to be performed by applying health protocols.

However, Deputy Governor of DKI Ahmad Riza Patria asked for internal supervision at the wedding reception. The family of the bride and groom holding the wedding reception is asked to help oversee the implementation of health protocols throughout the course of the event.

"Apart from being external, we also ask for internal supervision. From internal, it means from the organizers, families and respective communities that hold the reception," said Riza at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 9.

In addition, wedding hall managers and hotels that provide reception facilities must also comply with the integrity pact to properly implement the COVID-19 protocol in accordance with the provisions given by the DKI Provincial Government, especially the maximum number of guests is 25 percent of normal capacity.

"Requirements include a capacity of 25 percent of the capacity of the building or meeting room. The building management is asked to submit proposals related to health protocols," said Riza.

Riza said that the ranks of the Jakarta Provincial Government would impose sanctions on wedding reception building managers who are found to have allowed health protocol violations. However, he did not specify what sanctions would be imposed.

"The sanctions have been regulated in such a way. Of course there are provisions that have been regulated. Starting from those who violate not wearing masks, activity units that violate and have also been regulated in the previous regional regulations and governorates," explained Riza.

As is known, the DKI Provincial Government officially allows each building to open wedding reception services during the transitional PSBB period. Previously, the provincial government only allowed the marriage contract without a reception.

Although it is allowed, the Head of the Tourism Industry Division of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) Bambang Ismadi said that each building must apply for a license.

"Meeting buildings, venues, or hotels that will hold wedding receptions are welcome to submit a request to the joint Jakarta Provincial Government team," said Bambang.

Following are the health protocols when wedding receptions are permitted:

1. Ensure that the building provider provides a metal detector or x-ray to detect items being brought and checks the body temperature of guests using a temperature scanner or thermo-gun.
