Build Digital Technology In The Tourism Sector, Ministry Of Communication And Information Gives Training On Virtual Tourism Content Creation

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo), through the Directorate of the Digital Economy, collaborates with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to provide Assistance for the Adoption of Digital Technology in the Tourism Sector in four Priority Tourism Destinations in Indonesia.

The four areas are Belitung Region (19 July 2022), Borobudur (16 August 2022), Bromo (13 September 2022), and Labuan Bajo (11 October 2022).

The training provided is in the form of tourism content creation which is carried out intensively for 16 days, which is divided into 4 workshops with a duration of 4 days each week.

Not to forget, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics also collaborates with the local Regional Tourism Office and Tourism Village Managers in the area in carrying out this activity.

The Belitung area opened a series of mentoring events held on Tuesday, 19 July 2022 to 12 August 2022. In this workshop, they will be taught about: tourism villages and the adoption of digital technology, the use of social media and content creators, photography and videography, the use of drones , promotion of tourist villages, Instagram analysis, storytelling and copy writing, and virtual tours.

In its release, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics considers that before visitors come to tourist destinations, they must make observations and extract information about the places they want to visit via the internet.

Seeing this development, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics feels the need to provide assistance for the adoption of digital technology in tourist villages, which includes technical content creation for virtual villages in various regions.

In this mentoring activity, the material presented will include the use of digital technology to create content and promote tourist villages through social media, including the use of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for optimizing content on social media, so that the visit rate increases.

In addition, state-of-the-art photography supporting equipment such as drones, professional cameras and supporting devices are used, as well as at the post-production process stage to create attractive audio-visual content.

Furthermore, in the virtual tour material, participants also gain knowledge about the technical use of various supporting devices for making virtual tours and it is hoped that in the future they can create virtual village tour packages that are ready to sell.

The providers of training and mentoring materials are Vitria Ariani (Berbangsa Foundation), M Ilham Fadhilah (influencer), Barry Kusuma (professional photographer), Irwan (digital marketing practitioner) and Reza Permadi (virtual tour practitioner) which are divided into 4 workshops. in the period July to August 2022.
