Head Of Palembang BPN Detained, South Sumatra Agrarian Reform Committee Supports Eradication Of Land Mafia Cases
SUMSEL - The South Sumatra Agrarian Reform Committee (KRASS) supports the eradication of the land mafia by the police who are suspected of involving NS, the Head of the Palembang City Agrarian and Spatial Planning Office/State Land Agency (ATR/BNN).
"The arrest of the Head of the Palembang City ATR/BPN Office NS (50) by the Polda Metro Jaya, Thursday (14 July), on suspicion of the land mafia case when he was one of the officials at the Bekasi City ATR/BPN Office in 2016-2017 needs to be appreciated for providing warning or deterrent effect for other officials not to abuse the mandate of their positions," said KRASS Daily Executive Secretary Edi Susilo, in Palembang, South Sumatra, (South Sumatra), Saturday, July 16.
However, he reminded them to put forward the presumption of innocence.
The suspect in the land mafia case, NS, served as Head of Measurement Infrastructure at the Bekasi Regency ATR/BPN Office from 2016 to 2017.
When occupying this position, based on the Antara report, NS was suspected of publishing a field map based on false markings.
NS was named a suspect along with two other people, namely RS (58) as a West Bandung BPN official as well as a former Head of Measurement and Mapping at the Bekasi Regency BPN Office and PS (59) a former Measurement Coordinator for the Bekasi ATR/BPN Office.
The suspects have been detained by investigators of the Harda Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation of the alleged land mafia case that ensnared the three.
It is hoped that the disclosure of the land mafia case which allegedly involves ATR/BPN elements will continue to develop so that it can uncover other possible land mafia cases, including in Palembang City and other areas of South Sumatra.
There are many more cases of land mafia with the same mode occurring in almost every area.
Currently, the agrarian reform task force together with the ATR/BPN office team for the city of Palembang and the province of South Sumatra are coordinating to resolve 15 agrarian conflicts in the local area.
The process of eradicating the land mafia throughout Indonesia is expected to continue even more vigorously, because it is the biggest problem for the community and farmers.
"The spirit of eradicating the land mafia by the police must continue to be encouraged so that they are not sufficiently satisfied with the disclosure of the case," said the Secretary of KRASS.
Previously, the Head of the ATR/BPN Palembang Office Rights Determination, Feri Fadly, explained that service activities to the community continued as usual after the head of the office was arrested by the police regarding the alleged land mafia case.
Feri said that the alleged case of the land mafia involving its leader, NS, is expected to get clarity soon and the person concerned and his family will be given health.
