Visiting Kodam II/Sriwijaya, Prabowo Appreciates Steps To Prepare Strategic Logistics

PALEMBANG - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto paid a working visit to Kodam II/Sriwijaya, Palembang, South Sumatra. Defense Minister Prabowo appreciated the steps taken by Kodam II/Sriwijaya to prepare their own strategic food logistics reserves.

During the visit, Prabowo was greeted by the Military Commander II/Sriwijaya Major General Agus Suhardi and the ranks of Kodam II/Sriwijaya officials.

"I am grateful and grateful that the Kodam II/Sriwijaya has started to prepare for food security. We must prepare our own logistical reserves," Prabowo said, quoted from a written statement, Friday, July 15.

Prabowo explained that the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine-Russia war had caused various damage and destruction as well as disruption to the world economy and the world's food supply as a country's strategic commodity.

However, Indonesia is considered as one of the countries that is able to overcome the pandemic and survive in the changing world economy

In this effort, the role of the TNI is needed as one of the backbones of the country and the last bastion of sovereignty which has been proven time and time again.

“The government realizes that the TNI is a vital institution for Indonesia. Therefore, the Ministry of Defense strives to build a strong and reliable defense force," he said.

Meanwhile, in his presentation, Pangdam II/Sriwijaya Major General Agus Suhardi expressed his pride in having the opportunity to be visited by Prabowo and his ranks, as seniors who raised Kodam II/Sriwijaya.

Pangdam explained, in the near future, Kodam II/Sriwijaya will also launch corn planting in an area of 1700ha, and another 1500ha will be planted with rice for their logistics reserves.
