Inequality in the lowest expenditure group was higher than the upper expenditure group. The expenditure of the population in the lowest 40 percent group decreased from 17.02 percent in September 2021 to 16.60 percent in March 2022. On the other hand, spending in the top 20 percent increased from 47.78 percent to 50.18 percent. BPS uses the concept of ability to meet basic needs to calculate poverty in Jakarta.
