Facing The 2024 General Election, The West Java Provincial Government Will Form Hoax Saber Spread In 27 Regencies And Cities

BANDUNG - Head of the West Java Province (Jabar) Communication and Information Office, Ika Mardiah, revealed that the Hoax Clean Sweep Unit (Saber) and Information Commission would soon be formed in 27 districts and cities in West Java.

According to him, the role of Saber Hoaks and the Information Commission ahead of the 2024 General Election is important.

This was said by Ika at the opening of the Coordination Meeting for Information and Public Communication which took place in Pangandaran Regency on July 13, 2022.

"Especially before the political year, which is predicted to be a lot of negative information that cannot be accounted for or hoaxes. So we are replicating the existing units in the West Java Provincial Government to districts/cities to fulfill the people's right to receive correct information," he said in a press release, Thursday. July 14th.

Ika said the main task of Saber Hoaks was to prevent the circulation of false information or hoaxes. Including prioritizing the public's right to obtain correct information. "The public has the right to receive or request correct information," he continued.

On the same occasion, the Daily Executive of the Governor of West Java, Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, appreciated the efforts of the Communication and Information Office to build a good information climate.

"I really appreciate this activity as an effort to build a good and appropriate information climate, as well as collaboration between provinces and districts/cities," he said.

The West Java Information and Communications Sector Coordination Meeting which took place July 13-15 2022 was attended by representatives from 27 District and City-level Communication and Information Offices as well as representatives of regional apparatus organizations within the West Java Provincial Government.
