Lili Pintauli Resigns From KPK Leaders, DPR Asks President To Send Substitute Names For Fit And Proper Test
JAKARTA - Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) said the government must send a replacement name for Lili Pintauli Siregar, who resigned as deputy chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
This was said by Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Adies Kadir, regarding the mechanism for replacing Lili who resigned as KPK leader.
Adies explained that after the government sent a replacement name for Lili, the candidate for leadership of the KPK still had to follow the fit and proper test process at the DPR.
“So the government must send the name of its successor to the DPR. (After that) they still have to go through the DPR and then the DPR will carry out a fit and proper test", Adies said when confirmed, Monday, July 11.
While waiting for the name of Lili's replacement to be approved by the DPR through a fit and proper test at Commission III of the DPR, continued Adies, the government could appoint an acting deputy chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
“In this case, the president can appoint an Acting Plt while waiting for the appointment process to be officially ratified by the DPR. The president can appoint the Plt, in this case, the executor of the task", explained Adies.
The Golkar politician said that there is no time limit for the assignment of the acting KPK leadership appointed by the government. Because, he said, the mechanism for determining the leadership of the KPK depends on the government sending names that will take part in the fit and proper test in the DPR.
"There's no time, we'll just have to wait for the government to send it", said Adies.

According to Adies, KPK membership will end in September 2023. This means that there is still one year of Lili's replacement serving as a leader. If the government considers that one year is sufficient for the appointment of an Acting Officer, then the Plt can serve as deputy chairman of the KPK until his term of office expires.
"This membership ends in September 2023, there is still more than a year, if the Plt is appointed and the replacement process is sent for a year, maybe it could be the next Plt", said Adies.
“(Meaning) it depends on the government, we are just waiting for the name proposal to be sent to the DPR. If the government sees Plt as sufficient, then Plt until 2023", he continued.
However, Adies believes that the government will soon send Lili's replacement name to take part in the fit and proper test at Commission III of the DPR.
"But I think the government will conduct a re-selection test to appoint a replacement name", said Adies.
Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) signed a Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the dismissal of KPK Deputy Chair Lili Pintauli Siregar. Signing after the resignation letter is received.
"President Jokowi has received Lili Pintauli Siregar's resignation letter. President Jokowi has signed the Presidential Decree on the Dismissal of the LPS", said Special Staff of the Minister of State Secretary (Mensetneg) Faldo Maldini when contacted by VOI via text message, Monday, July 11.
Faldo did not specify when exactly the letter came in and when the Presidential Decree was signed. The signing and issuance are administrative procedures that must be carried out by KPK Law Number 19 of 2019.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the KPK Firli Bahuri did not want to answer the news about the resignation of his deputy. He chose to submit it directly to the KPK Supervisory Board.
Moreover, the KPK Council is currently investigating the alleged violations committed by Lili. He was suspected of violating ethics after receiving accommodation and tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP.
"It will be handed over to the KPK Council. We must not precede the Council", he stressed to reporters at the KPK ACLC building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Monday, July 11.
