The Indonesian Foreign Minister And China Agreed To Encourage The Solidity Of Developed Countries To Stop The Russian-Ukraine War And Regional Stability
JAKARTA - The role of developing countries to stop the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is considered important, as well as to support efforts to recover its impact, such as disruption to the global supply chain.
This was discussed in a bilateral meeting between Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Ii, Thursday, July 7, in Bali, ahead of the G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting.
"Solidity of the voices of developing countries is also needed in an effort to stop the war, and reintegrate the export of food from Ukraine and Russia into the global supply chain," the Foreign Ministry wrote in a statement.
Still related to developing countries, the two foreign ministers also assessed the importance of cooperation among these groups, in order to maintain regional stability and address global issues.
"Including through strengthening ASEAN and PRC cooperation," wrote the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In addition to regional issues, the two also discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, where this weekend, Indonesia and China will hold the 2nd High-Level Dialogue and Cooperation Mechanism (HDCM) meeting in Bali on July 9.
The two also agreed to increase close cooperation, along with the many challenges that must be faced. Both Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Foreign Minister Retno appreciated each other for being related to the Indonesian Presidency at the G20 this year.
