Abused By Using Make-up At School, This Young Man Is Now Running A Salon Business

JAKARTA - A young man who loves beauty is prohibited from wearing make-up to school. However, she refused and kept the makeup on her face.

Aidan Bowie (18) was dragged into the office of his high school principal and ordered to remove 'annoying' makeup at the age of 15. But, instead of letting it sadden him, he continued to pursue his passion.

Three years later, the rising star runs her beauty line and will open her own salon this November.

Aidan, from Condorrat, North Lanarkshire, hopes his story will inspire other teenage boys who have a make-up passion to 'do it' regardless of what people think.

"I can't wear heavy makeup to school while some girls wear it. But I got into trouble, I cried," Aidan told Record, Tuesday, November 3.

"I was teased for wearing make-up and having a YouTube channel where I filmed tutorials, but overall friends and family were very supportive," she continued.

"I know it is my passion and I have determination."

Dabbling in makeup at a family party earned Aidan her first eye shadow palette from her mother, Shirley, 53, when she was 14.

With the full support of Shirley, who works for Kingsmill, as well as plaster father Don (53) and brothers, Kevin (34) and Sean (15), this talented teenager has never looked back.

"Knowing you can change someone or even make them feel more confident is the reason I do my make-up," she adds.

"I'll do it to my friends and when word gets around, I have clients on the weekends, after school and during the summer holidays."

After graduating high school, Aidan left school at 16 to work at a local salon and run her beauty line.

"At first, the client was shocked by the fact that I was a boy and how young I was, but in a good way," said Aidan.

"I became a trained eyelash, nail and eyebrow technician, as well as an MUA (Make Up Artist) makeup artist and built my clients."

Tired of her day off, the avid MUA started launching her own line of strip lashes, in November 2018. Her brand, Wicked Beauty, sold out and she's expanding her reach with an eye shadow palette.

Meanwhile, her salon, named Wicked, will open at the end of November, right before her 19th birthday.
