Governor Edy: The Arrival Of President Jokowi Is A New Spirit For North Sumatra To Suppress Stunting
MEDAN - North Sumatra Governor (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi said the presence of President Joko Widodo at the National Family Day Commemoration centered in Medan, became a new spirit for North Sumatra in an effort to reduce stunting rates.
"President Jokowi's presence adds to the enthusiasm of all to reduce stunting rates in North Sumatra," said Governor Edy in Medan, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 5.
The Governor of North Sumatra, who was also accompanied by the Chairman of the North Sumatra PKK TP, Nawal Lubis, welcomed the arrival of the President and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and his entourage who arrived at Soewondo Air Base, Medan.
North Sumatra's current stunting rate, said Edy Rahmayadi, is still 25.8 percent and is expected to be able to pursue the national target of 14 percent in 2024.
"President Jokowi's arrival is an honor and this will be a new spirit for North Sumatra to continue fighting stunting," said Edy.
Edy Rahmayadi will continue to accompany President Jokowi while in North Sumatra.
The President is planned to visit several areas from the Nias Islands to Medan City.
Starting from meeting with community members of the Family Hope Program at the Petisah Market, Medan, visiting the Palm Oil Research Center, and celebrating National Family Day.
Then the inauguration of the revitalization of Medan Merdeka Square to the observation of floating houses in Belawan.
According to Gubsu Edy, the arrival of President Jokowi has given positive things to the people in the area.
