ACT President Rejects Allegations Of Forcing Ahyudin To Sign Resignation Letter

JAKARTA - The President of Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Ibnu Khajar dismissed reports that the previous president, Ahyudin, was forced to sign a letter of resignation on January 11, 2022.

"Regarding the harsh words that we conveyed did not happen. We are actually grateful that with grace, the previous leader (Ahyudin) signed a letter of resignation," Ibnu said at a press conference reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 4.

Previously, Tempo's investigative report stated that the shift in leadership from Ahyudin to Ibnu Khajar was carried out by force. Ahyudin admitted that on January 11 around 40 people came to his office.

According to Ahyudin, they forced him to sign his resignation letter right away. He even said that the group would not disband before Ahyudin signed the letter.

But Ibn Khajar rejected all these assumptions and said the resignation was done consciously and peacefully. According to him, there is a collective awareness from both the center and the branches who want to correct deficiencies within the institution.

Therefore, the head of the central and branch offices came to Jakarta to provide input and advice to the previous leaders, and in the end Ahyudin resigned.

On January 20, ACT then held a supervisory meeting and amendments to the foundation's deed. At that time Ahyudin was invited, but he could not attend because he was out of town.

"He informed us via WA (WhatsApp) that he was out of town and authorized all of us to continue the process. He said that if he needed a wet signature, when he came home from out of town he was pleased to arrange the time," he said.

He also denied that there was a leadership coup. Ahyudin's resignation, said Ibnu, was a turning point for reforming and restructuring the institution. Among the elements that are being addressed, one of them is regarding salaries and operational vehicles.

The salary of the chairman of the ACT Board of Trustees is said to have received around Rp. 250 million. Meanwhile, lower officials such as the Senior Vice President received around Rp. 150 million, the Vice President Rp. 80 million, the executive director Rp. 50 million, and the director Rp. 30 million per month.

But Ibnu did not want to say how much the original salary was, even though he said there had been a 50-70 percent salary cut for his top brass since January 2022.

Other things that have been fixed regarding vehicle operations. Previously, ACT officials were said to have received operational vehicles in the form of Alphard, CRV, and Pajero Sport cars.

"We convey that from January 11, 2022 to January 20, there has been a change in the foundation's deed, so since then we have succeeded in making changes and adjustments, one of which is the HR salary facility," he said.
