Highlighted For Allegations Of Misappropriation Of Humanitarian Funds, ACT President Admits He Has Sold Luxury Cars Used By Leaders

JAKARTA - The philanthropic organization Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) admits that it has sold luxury cars previously for the operations of its leaders.

"We want to convey that since January 11, 2022, which is a transition period, we have lowered all our operational facilities, this is part of our commitment, not just now, but since January 2022, so that institutional funds focus on institutional programs," said ACT President Ibnu Khajar in a press conference reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 4.

Previously, the luxury car used by ACT was in the spotlight after Tempo magazine uncovered the discrepancy. The cars used by the leadership are Alphard, CR-V, to Pajero Sport.

People then questioned ACT's move, which thought that ACT should allocate funds for humanitarian programs, not for luxury.

However, Ibnu admitted that the Alphard car used by ACT was used to honor guests because the car was used to pick up ustaz guests and community leaders from the airport.

"This vehicle is more optimal for our guests of honor," he said.

Ibnu explained about the Pajero Sport car and others. This vehicle was once used for the operations of ACT officers. This is because ACT, which operates in the humanitarian and disaster sector, requires adequate vehicles to break through difficult areas.

"So, the car is not for luxury," said Ibnu.

Now, said Ibnu, all the luxury cars have been sold to cover volunteer operations and the ACT program. Ibnu admitted that for the level of the chairman of the foundation he used a vehicle in the form of an Innova. The positions of director and vice president are no longer privileged.

"For a foundation chairman level like me, using an old Innova vehicle, this is also a rental car. For some vice president directors we provide non-personal operations, but for institutional work in the form of Avanza or Xpander, not institutional inventory, but still to vendors," " he said.
