F1 2022 Driver Standings After Carlos Sainz Wins The British GP: Max Verstappen Starts To Be Followed By Sergio Perez
JAKARTA - Ferrari's Carlos Sainz won the British GP Formula 1 race, Sunday, July 3. He beat Sergio Perez (Red Bull Racing) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes GP) who finished second and third.
Meanwhile, Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen had to settle for seventh place. He finished behind Charles Leclerc, Fernando Alonso, and Lando Norris who finished fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively.
With the addition of six points, Verstappen is still firmly at the top of the standings with 181 points. However, he is now constantly being approached by his teammate, Sergio Perez, who finished second. Now the distance between the two remaining 34 points.
Leclerc is still in third place in the 2022 F1 drivers' standings with 138 points. He is now 11 points adrift of Sainz who finished third.
Meanwhile, Mick Schumacher rose to 17th position in the standings after scooping four points from the British GP. He recorded his first points in F1 after finishing eighth.
