Metallica Story Making New Album

JAKARTA - Metallica is reportedly working on a new album. Speaking to Metal Hammer, bassist Robert Trujilo said Metallica had made many changes.

Metallica members will participate a lot through the lyric writing process considering that previously most of their music was made by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich.

"For me personally, I love this process. I love that we work together to be more collaborative, and I think I'm excited for where we are now, the journey we're going to take, the fact that the doors are open like that, ”said Trujilo.

Trujilo also shared the contribution of guitarist Kirk Hammett, who had many ideas for their new album.

"It's interesting because sometimes he (Hammett) is in the kitchen and cooking and on the other hand he plays the riff and when you sit on the toilet and he plays some ideas."

Even though they are on lockdown separately, they are still in touch to continue producing the new album.

“The hardest thing about being apart is that there is no software that can make us play in real time for each other. So I played something and sent it to the next person then he played it and he sent it to someone else, vice versa, "Lars Ulrich told NME.

This album will be Metallica's new project following the 2016 album Hardwired ... to Self-Destruct.

In addition, Metallica reworked Nothing Else Matters for the film Jungle Cruise. The film will hit theaters in 2021.
