INACA Does Not Want To Stand Still And Wants To Immediately Make Efforts To Stimulate The Aviation Industry

JAKARTA - The Association of Indonesian National Aviation Companies (INACA) is conducting an intensive assessment of various parties so that its members do not suffer substantial losses and can immediately operate normally as before the pandemic.

"We don't want to sit idly by lamenting this, but we have made a number of breakthroughs and various efforts so that the air transportation sector in the country is excited and revived," INACA Chairman Denon Prawiraatmadja said in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Friday, July 1.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, around August 2020, his party has intensively carried out a campaign to revive the aviation sector through the Safe Travel Campaign to a number of cities such as Bali, Yogyakarta, Medan, and Padang with INACA member airlines, namely Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, AirAsia and Lion Group.

He added that this activity also received full support from relevant stakeholders such as the Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Airport Manager, namely PT. Angkasa Pura I and II, AirNav as the manager of air navigation and the hospitality industry, namely the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI).

"The strict application of health protocols by airlines and airport managers has become a motivating factor for people to return to travel. That's what we have been campaigning for since the beginning of COVID-19," he said.

Not only that, INACA also approached and discussed solutions to the Regional Government (Pemda), the district government (Pemkab) and to the city government (Pemkot) so as not to close flight access for airlines that want to serve flight services. This is in the common interest so that accessibility remains open to the public.

Denon also said that another important step that has also been taken by his party is to take a very intensive and pro-active approach to regulators in this case the Directorate of Air Transport, Ministry of Transportation to make tariff adjustments, namely through fuel surcharges.

"When the world avtur price increases, we from INACA immediately approach the regulator and our proposal is approved. Where the airline company can apply a fuel surcharge of up to 10 percent above the upper limit rate (TBA)," he said.

Denon also ensured that in the future his party will continue to make breakthroughs, as well as an intensive approach to various parties to fight for the fate of airlines in the country so that they can provide the best service to the community.

"One of them is that on Thursday, June 20, INACA will meet with a number of parties and airline lessors to discuss plans for the recovery of the aviation industry in Indonesia," he said.
