Kominfo Affirms To Block Access For Domestic And Foreign PSEs Who Have Not Registered, What Is The Fate Of WA, Google, And Instagram?
JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) at Dedy Permadi announced that the deadline for registration of private Electronic System Operators (PSE) both domestic and foreign will fall on July 20, 2022.
In a press conference that took place on Wednesday, June 22, Dedy mentioned several big names from domestic and foreign private PSEs who have been registered in Foreign and Domestic PSEs at Kominfo.
The big brands that we often hear that have been registered with domestic PSEs are Bukalapak, Tokopedia, GoTo, Traveloka, JNE, OVO. As for the famous Foreign PSEs who have registered, only TikTok and Linktree.
“As of this morning, there are only TikTok and Linktree, only two foreign PSEs that have registered. These are all pretty well known names huh. In addition, I invite the two PSEs to immediately register,” explained Dedy in his press conference.
The list of well-known Foreign Private PSEs that have been registered are as follows:
- TikTok
- Linktree
- Resso
- Capcut
- Dailymotion
- Helo
- Shareit
- Spotify, dsb
From VOI's monitoring, as of today, based on data from the Kominfo website, there are a total of more than 4.600 private PSEs that have been registered. 75 of them are Foreign PSEs, and 4.543 are Domestic PSEs. Of the number of registered Foreign PSEs, there are no names for Google, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp there, which means they have not registered themselves.
In accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations, Dedy said they will still block access to the service if they have not registered until the specified deadline.
Access Blocking Mechanism
However, it was not immediately blocked, Dedy explained that there were several steps that would be taken before the blocking. First, Kominfo will identify which PSEs have not registered.
"Then after that we will coordinate with the relevant ministries and institutions in the eradication sector, such as the local game being shaded by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and if Fintech is carried out by the OJK," he added.

Furthermore, after checking and coordinating with related institutions, Kominfo will communicate to the relevant PSE asking for an explanation. "If there is no acceptable explanation, then according to the provisions, we will block access," said Dedy.
Can I Come Back After Blocking?
"To block access to one PSE will be in accordance with the SOP, if it is related to the registration system, it is at the Directorate of Governance, at the Directorate General of Informatics Applications (Aptika), and. for blocking is in the Directorate of Control," explained Deddy.
Dedy continued, if there is an administrative sanction in the form of termination of access, it will be immediately terminated. However, please note that the PSE that has been blocked can be accessed again if the PSE meets the applicable requirements in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.
